El retaule de Sant Agustí de Jaume Huguet. Un referent singular en l'art pictòric català del darrer quatre-cents
A partir de les taules conservades del retaule gòtic de l'església del convent de Sant Agustí de Barcelona, de les capitulacions d'aquest conjunt i de les descripcions d'aquest temple es fa una hipòtesi de reconstrucció del conjunt pictòric que va presidir l'altar major. D'altra banda, es fa una valoració de les peculiaritats econòmiques incloses en el contracte del fustam i de la pintura del retaule de Sant Agustí, les quals evidencien que Macià Bonafè i Jaume Huguet van assumir la major part del finançament de l'obra.
També es porta a terme una avaluació estilística de les pintures del moble agustí i es fa un replantejament de l'obrador de Jaume Huguet, en què, a rnés de la presència dels Vergós, cal destacar la incidència de diversos artistes gironins: Bemat Vicens, Esteve Solà i, molt probablement, Ramon Solà II, pintors que esdevenen un suport important en l'obrador huguetià durant bona part dels anys seixanta i inicis dels setanta del segle xv. From the preserved sketches of the gothic altarpiece in the church of St. Augustin's convent in Barcelona, from the conclusions of both of these, and from the descriptions of this temple, a hypothesis can be made of reconstruction of the overall outwork represented in the altar. In addition to this, an evaluation of the econòmic contract peculiarities is made, such as those of the woodwork and of the paintingof the altarpiece of St. Augustin, which proved that Macià Bonafè and Jaume Huguet covered most of the financing of the work.
A stylistic evaluation of the Augustian furniture is also carried out, and a replanting of artist Jaume Huguet is made, in which, as well as the presence of the Vergós, one should underline the influence of various Gironean artists: Bernat Vicens, Esteve Solà, and most likely Ramon Solà II, painters who eventually become an important support in Huguet's work during a great part of the 60s and beginning of the 70s of the xv century.
